Development Manager
 
The Development Manager is a key member of the Development Team and works to achieve annual revenue and engagement goals through year-round partnerships with companies and workplace employees. Working with senior leadership, the Development Manager will help implement a fundraising plan. The Development Manager will collaborate with colleagues, donors, and volunteers to inspire people to financially support United Way of West Florida’s (UWWF) work.
 
 
988 Manager
 
The 988 Manager’s primary role is to promote and ensure the 24/7 delivery of compassion based human connections by 988 call handlers. Under the direction of the Operations and Training Manager and in partnership with the Resource & 211 Manager and Training/Quality Manager, the 988 Manager will use their experience as one component of building an effective phone-based team of crisis call handlers. 988 Manager will provide support, coaching and relief to 988 call handlers to ensure their personal wellness, promote active listening with compassionate human connection, and compliance with policy and procedures while responding to 988 crisis calls.
 
 
211 Call Specialist 
 
The Call Specialist will serve as the first responder to incoming calls through either the 211 Information and Referral line or 988 Crisis line providing a compassionate and professional phone-based service to those reaching out for help.  Call Specialists will maintain a thorough, working and intimate understanding of the 211 Northwest Florida database of human services for the ten-county service area of northwest Florida.  Call Specialists will employ active listening and reflective statements to make a connection to the 211 caller and develop a clear understanding of their challenges, household demographics and referral needs. 
 

Internships
 

Internships available at United Way of West Florida are listed below. When applying for an internship, you will need to submit your resume and a cover letter to Mary Zaledonis, VP of Impact Services. Please specify the internship you wish to apply for. 

Applicants must be 18 years or older and possess a high school diploma prior to the start date of the internship. Internships are not paid positions and follow the academic calendars of post-secondary institutions. Hours per week are dependent upon course requirements and/or position descriptions. All other requirements are listed in the position descriptions.
