Free Tax Help: Online and In Person
MAXIMIZE YOUR MONEY by filing your taxes for FREE: online or in person! United Way of Escambia County offers two programs for individuals and families who have an annual income of $62,000 or less.
Online: File your taxes anywhere, anytime at www.myfreetaxes.com. If you have questions, just call the MyFreeTaxes Helpline at 1-855-698-9435, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Person: Go to a VITA site and have an IRS-certified volunteer prepare your taxes one-on-one. Location and times are listed below, or you can dial 2-1-1 for the most current information. VITA sites are open the first week of February through April 15th each year.
Make sure to have the following items:
- Photo proof of identity
- Social Security cards for taxpaper, spouse and dependents
- All W2s, 1098 and 1099 forms
- Childcare provider's ID number
- Taxpayer's banking information or valid mailing address
- Estimated tax payments
- Amounts of other income
- Last year's return, if possible
