United Way of Florida produced a state-wide report (the ALICE Report) that looks at working class households that struggle to meet basic needs.
United Way of Escambia County works hard to ensure that working-class families do not fall into poverty when unexpected expenses threaten their financial stability. Programs that are funded, supported, and initiated by United Way are proposedly chosen to strengthen the building blocks of education, health, and financial stability through collaborative partnerships with nonprofit agencies, schools, and workplace partners. These programs are dedicated to creating sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the asset-limited, income-constrained, employed households that are the subject of the ALICE Report.
