Leave a legacy that will last forever.

The Agnes Weis Society recognizes those who include the United Way of West Florida Foundation in their will or estate plans or other forms of planned gifts.

Who was Agnes Weis?

Agnes (Mrs.Carl) Weis arrived in Pensacola in 1921 when her husband transferred his Weis-Fricker Lumber Company to Pensacola from Louisiana. Along with Max Bear, John Sherrill, JohnMcComack and others, she found a social service organization that was the beginning of what is now known as the United Way of Escambia County. Mrs. Weis was the first campaign chairperson (1924) and would help to lead the organization in subsequent years. Mrs. Weis remained dedicated to helping the community until her death in 1949.
