The Ambassador Program

WHAT IS THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM?

Each year, community-minded employers lend key personnel to United Way of Escambia County to serve as Ambassadors (formerly known as Loaned Executives). By volunteering a few hours each month, these individuals help raise funds to meet critical needs in our community. Each Ambassador supports between four and six companies by planning and implementing successful fundraising campaigns. To do this, Ambassadors receive training and several opportunities to learn more about the United Way funded programs addressing the gaps in education, health, and financial stability.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“I was able to gain valuable leadership skills while meeting with many people who generously
give to help United Way and my organization. Additionally, I learned how so many programs
and organizations are connected through the common mission of improving Escambia County.
I’ve built strong relationships with colleagues in my field and gained additional exposure for
my organization.”

-  Megan Chapman, Gulf Coast Kid’s House, 2016 - 2017 Ambassador

"The personal gratification you get from serving the community and becoming more in tune
with community needs makes the time you give up well worth it. The Ambassador Program
sends the message that although faces may change, Ambassadors will always be there to
support our community's needs."

-Sara Harlow, Gulf Power, 2015-2016 Ambassador

"Being an Ambassador for United Way has really opened my eyes to our area's nonprofits and
how they are positively impacting so many people within our community. The program has
allowed me the opportunity to learn more about these organizations and become more involved
with them. What United Way's team does to bring this community together is incredible. I am
very fortunate and thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of people who truly make
a difference."
