26th Annual Day of Caring

Last Friday, October 5, United Way of Escambia County's 26th Annual Day of Caring landed on the same day as Do Something Nice Day and that is exactly what happened. Throughout Escambia County, more than 1,300 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help 70 local schools and agencies to complete 122 projects. Groups assisted schools and agencies with projects like landscaping, providing casseroles to feed families in need, organizing books in a school library, reading with children, painting, and so much more!

Seeing so many passionate individuals taking time from their schedules to serve the people and agencies in our area, shows just how dedicated our community is to fighting for the continued improvement of the health, education, and financial stability of Escambia County residents.

Since the inaugural Day of Caring in 1993, United Way of Escambia County has coordinated over 27,000 volunteers to complete 2,416 projects through this event. This year's Day of Caring was made possible by the support of Cox Communications, Florida Blue, and WhataburgerDay of Caring is an annual reminder that great things happen when we LIVE UNITED.
