The Community Assessment
Unite Escambia conducted a comprehensive community assessment to help define the vision for a strong, healthy Escambia County. The assessment included:
• Data and reports from multiple reliable local sources
• More than 700 paper, phone and web surveys
• Six separate focus groups
Vision and Priorities
The Vision: A healthy community where all have the inspiration and opportunity to succeed.
The Priorities: Education, Environment, Health, Housing and Poverty
Solution Teams
Solution teams have been formed around each of the priorities. Team members look at what has worked and why, for strategies that have worked in other counties with similar demographics, and how those strategies could be adapted or adopted to work here. Additionally, the teams work to devise solutions that the general community can contribute to – concepts that, with enough people actively participating, will make visible improvements community-wide.
