Become a VITA Volunteer!
The volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is looking for volunteers to help prepare tax returns for those with low-to-moderate income, who cannot prepare their own tax returns. As a VITA volunteer, you will:
- Spend two to four hours per week volunteering from February through April 15th.
- Receive IRS certified training and certification.
- Expand your knowledge of federal taxes.
- Add a new skill set to your resume.
- Receive CRA credit (for depository institutions only).
- Help stimulate the local economy – last year VITA volunteers processed over $2 million in tax refunds.
Training starts in December and there are several VITA sites to choose from, including Pensacola State College, St. Sylvester Church in Navarre, and Families Count in Milton.
