United Way of Escambia County’s Nonprofit Training Series is designed to help nonprofit professionals improve their skill-sets. Topics include board governance, fundraising, business and strategic planning, building a brand, grant writing and more. Last year, 137 nonprofit professionals, representing 66 organizations, attended non-profit training in the last fiscal year. At the end of the trainings, pre and post-test averages demonstrated a 27% gain in knowledge and a 21% gain in attendees comfort level with the subject area and knowledge of where to find resources to further help their organizations.
After much consideration, our United Way Board has chosen to put the remaining Non-Profit Training sessions of 2017 on hiatus. With their focus on the search for a new President/CEO, and the team’s focus on our many internal programs, it was determined that this would be in the best interest of the training series. We plan to review the 2018 NonProfit Training schedule once our new President/CEO is in place.
