On October 13, 2017, you can join more than 1,200 volunteers and enjoy the opportunity to learn about the needs in our community while working together to combat them. Individuals are matched with local non-profit agencies and schools for a variety of service projects.
Day of Caring is a one-day event that impacts 70,000 people across Escambia County. Last year, 1,250 volunteers successfully completed 87 projects at 58 agencies and schools across Escambia County. Together, volunteers donated nearly 7,000 hours, a value of $162,000 in free labor ($23.56 Independent Sector's valuation of volunteer labor per hour). In effect, it would take an individual every hour of each day for almost an entire year to have the same impact that these caring volunteers accomplished in just one day.
With your help, we can make this year our largest Day of Caring yet! We would love to have you, your friends, family, workplace or organization LIVE UNITED with us for our 25th year! If you would like to participate as a volunteer group OR site this year, please fill out the interest form, due by August 14. For more information on Day of Caring, please contact Brooke Policicchio, Volunteer Manager, at 912-8163 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
