2013-14 Application for Funding

Through United Way of Escambia County’s Funds Distribution process, United Way donors come together to make recommendations on how undesignated donations should be invested in non-profit programs that serve our community. 

Funding requests from programs receiving funds from United Way are broken down into 4 areas/panels: Education, Financial Stability, Health1, Health2/Other. The Health2 panel will also evaluate any programs applying outside these core areas.  Each panel is comprised of 15-20 volunteers, ensuring a community-wide perspective in the review process. Each member brings a unique perspective, life experiences and insight into the process. It is the collective voice that builds consensus for funding recommendations.

The panel framework is similar to last year, with panels in each of United Way’s three priority areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health.  The 2012/13 partner program list shows where partner programs fit into the panels last year.

This training session will cover United Way’s funds distribution process, the written application and Certification process.

Agency Budget Workshops

January 15, 2013, 1:30pm
January 16, 2013, 9:30am
Location: Pensacola City Hall, 222 West Main Street Pensacola, Florida 32502
This workshop will focus on assisting agencies/programs complete the program budget section of the written application.

Funds Distribution Agency Follow-Up Workshops
January 29, 2013, 2:00pm

Location: Saltmarsh CPA & Consultants, 900 North 12 Avenue Pensacola, Florida 32501
This workshop is intended to assist partner agencies in finalizing their written application and answer any questions agency and program staff may have regarding the funds distribution or partner certification processes.

United Way offers two sessions for each workshop so that agency/program staff can attend one that best fits into your schedule. Both sessions for each workshop cover the same information.
